Weekly Update - Friday, October 27, 2023 
 

Good afternoon. I hope our weekly update finds you and your family well.

As I write this, there are dozens of excited parent and students setting up for the Halloween Dance / Haunted House. I hope your children have a safe and enjoyable Halloween this year.  

A big thanks to our many volunteers for all of the support. This week we recognize and thank volunteers for Fun Lunch and Halloween Dance events. 

Following are a few updates on the weeks ahead.

School Fees

School fees are now posted in your MyCBE Account. Prompt payment of your school and lunchroom supervision fees is greatly appreciated. Note, if your child stays for lunch, you must also register them for this service through MyCBE Account. 

Upcoming Events 

• Tuesday, Oct 31 - Halloween Parade - as we have done in previous years, On Oct 31, grade 1-6 students are welcome to change into their Halloween costumes after lunch. Kindergarten can wear their costumes to school in the morning and we will do a Kindergarten parade through classrooms at 10:30. Gr 1-6 Halloween parade will start at 1:45. Parents are welcome to join us in the gym to see the Halloween spirit on display. Please note - we appreciate parents helping guide the costume choices. Please no violent or sexualized costumes.
• Friday, Nov 3 - Lifetouch picture re-takes
• Wednesday, Nov 8 - Remembrance Day Assembly
• Thursday, Nov 9 - Professional Development Day - no school for students.
• Nov 10-14 - Fall break - schools closed
• Nov 15 - classes resume

Physical Education 

Physical Education classes will be held indoors for the next period of time. Students will still spend recess and lunch break outside so please make sure your child is dressed for the weather. 

School Council Meeting 

Our next School Council meeting will be November 22, 6:30-8:00. Please hold the date and plan on joining us in person or on-line.
