Centennial 2026

Elbow Park School is preparing to celebrate its 100th anniversary in the fall of 2026!

In anticipation of this milestone, students throughout the 2025–26 school year will be exploring the rich history of our school and surrounding area — from the time when the Treaty 7 peoples lived on this land to the present day.

As part of their learning, students hope to examine historical artifacts and connect with long-time Elbow Park residents to hear stories from the past. We invite community members to look through old class photos, yearbooks, and other school memorabilia that you may have. We would love to have them on display for our students to explore - please contact the school to make arrangements.

Highlights of our centennial plans include:

1. A community open house in late spring 2026 to showcase student learning
2. A Calgary Opera residency with student performances open to the public on June 4 (1:30-2:30) and June 5 (10:30-11:30)
3. The creation of a time capsule in fall 2026
