Centennial 2026

Elbow Park School is preparing to celebrate its 100th anniversary in the fall of 2026!

In anticipation of this milestone, students throughout the 2025–26 school year will be exploring the rich history of our school and surrounding area — from the time when the Treaty 7 peoples lived on this land to the present day.

As part of their learning, students hope to examine historical artifacts and connect with long-time Elbow Park residents to hear stories from the past. We invite community members to look through old class photos, yearbooks, and other school memorabilia that you may have. We would love to have them on display for our students to explore - please contact the school to make arrangements.

We partnered with Calgary Opera for a full-year residency program integrating the arts with Language Arts curricular outcomes to create our own opera. We had three performances on June 4 and 5. The show can be viewed on our school's YouTube channel here.

On Friday, October 2, 2026, we are hosting an open house for alumni and the community to see our school and walk our halls. We will have a formal time capsule ceremony at that time. More details to follow.
