Weekly Update - Friday, November 17, 2023 

 

Good morning Elbow Park School Community. We hope you had a good fall break. This was the first fall break for schools in the Calgary Board of Education and it has been great to see how refreshed our students and staff were following the break. As this is new for CBE schools, I should assure you that minutes and days of instruction are mandated by Alberta Education. Even with this fall break, our students will continue to receive the same number of instructional days to that of previous years. 

On Thursday, November 9 our staff engaged in some wonderful professional learning around Indigenous Education which we will be imparting to our students in the coming months.

November 20 - Grade 1, 2 students will be participating in off-site learning at Telus Spark.

November 20 - 6:00am - Conference Manager opens to book Learning Conferences. Parents reserve their conference times through MyCBE Powerschool.

November 20 - Gr 1/2 - off-site at Telus Spark

November 22 @ 6:30 pm - Parent Council meetings - all parents are welcome to join us. Details below

November 23, 4:00-8:00pm - Learning Conferences

November 24, 9:00-12:00 - (no school for students) - Learning Conferences

School Council Meeting 

Our next School Council meeting will be November 22, 6:30-8:00. Please hold the date and plan on joining us in person or on-line. Mr. Campbell and Mrs. Warburton will be sharing our Provincial Achievement Test results as well as our School Development Plan. Other reports and information will be provided as well as opportunities for questions and input.
