School Council Election Results
We held our first School Council Meeting yesterday afternoon and it was well attended with about 15 parents. Our quorum of nine parents was met for our special election and as a result we were able to elect Meghan Z. for Chair, Peter D. for Vice Chair and Melissa S. for Secretary. Thank you in advance for your service and support! For general information about Council, please visit our School Council webpage.
We also shared an update from James Short Memorial School, who we support as a learning community and our Council & Society support through various volunteer and fundraising initiatives. Last spring, we donated $9000 to pay for the installation of a chain link on the front of their school property on the corner of a busy intersection. This has allowed them to have a safe space for an outdoor classroom and has decreased trespassing across their property. Principal Taylor shared, “the fencing project is now complete, and our students are already safely using the space. We’re incredibly grateful for the support of your parent council in making this happen. As a token of our appreciation, I wanted to share an Instagram post that our Grade 1 team published to celebrate the completion: Instagram Post. Once again, thank you so much for your invaluable contribution. Our community is now a safer place because of your school council.”
Save the Date – EPPS Fundraiser Event
