The Terry Fox run is a foundation to raise money for cancer research. Elbow Park School tries to run as many laps that we can around our school. “We say toonies for Terry,” some people  bring more! Our school learns about Terry Fox during the week of the run, Friday 13th we learn about his goals, cancer and his dreams to run across Canada. We make posters about his journey to finish the Marathon Of Hope. “ Even if I don’t finish The Marathon Of Hope it must go on without me”-Terry Fox.   

Every year we have a goal to raise a certain amount of money for Terry Fox who ran The Marathon of Hope and it became a world famous run. This year our goal was $500 and we raised  $982.20. Mr.Fech sent out an email to all parents to bring a toonie for TerryYou are probably wondering how we raised $977.20 if everyone only brought a toonie but some parents gave their kids $5, $10 or even $20 dollar bills. All the money that we raised goes to  The Terry Fox foundation for cancer research.
