Student-Led Parent Teacher Conferences Registration

As we approach our Student-Led Parent / Teacher conferences on the evening of March 14 (4:30-8:00), please ensure that you have created a PowerSchool account. You can book your time on Monday, March 11 at 6:00 a.m. You will receive an email on Sunday with reservation details.

The format for these conferences are different from the formal one-on-one interview with the teacher in November. Students are expected to attend and will be sharing their work with parents. Students will have a passport for learning that will guide the time with your child.

There will be multiple families in the classroom at the same time with the teacher. The teacher is available to prompt students or add further context to the learning tasks on display. This format allows students to share their accomplishments and speak to learning goals moving forward. If you feel you need to discuss concerns with teachers outside of these sessions, please request a separate meeting with the teacher.

The time slots allow us to stagger times for families and not have too many families in at one time. You will be booking into a 30-minute time slot with the homeroom teacher, and for Grades 1-2 and 5-6, please ensure you view your child’s work with their other core subject teacher (literacy or math) either before or after your scheduled slot. If you book the last time slot of the day (7:30-8:00 p.m.), please arrive earlier to have time to view all work.

Engineering for Kids STEM Residency

For three weeks, our Grades 1-6 students will be working with Engineering for Kids in their classrooms. Students will be learning how to code and program Lego EV3 Robots as computational thinking is now a part of the new Alberta Science curriculum.

Our Grades 1-2 students will be first to work on this during the week of February 25 followed by our Grade 3-4’s the following week (March 4-7) and the Grade 5-6’s during the week of March 11.
