Mental Health Magic Show!
Today we had Steve Warburton, a professional magician, come to our school to do a show based on mental health, and the four strategies to help with anxiety, depression, and wellness.
The four strategies for mental health are balance, resilience, flexibility, and purpose.These strategies help with mental blocks. He incorporated these messages in his magic tricks, and some of the examples he shared were times when he got knocked down and had found ways to overcome challenges. He had student volunteers come up and join him with his representations like one about two teams and one had an advantage over the other team and they had to push through the mental blocks. These tricks were impressive and amazing to watch that lit up kids’ faces with enjoyment. The message of this performance was to overcome challenges, never give up, and take care of your mental health.
