Principal’s Message

As we move through this busy last week of school, we are taking advantage of some community building activities. We will have Canada’s football game on the projector in the gymnasium this afternoon, allowing students to cheer for their country. Classes will come and go throughout the game as their schedule allows. We also will be viewing the opera performance as a whole school tomorrow morning. In how the play was put together by Calgary Opera, our students have not had the opportunity to see the whole show. A special thanks to one of our parents, Craigery Dennis, who filmed the show and put the video together for us to share with the community. We will make it available for viewing on our school’s YouTube channel.

Report Cards – Download by July 31

Families will be able to view online student report cards for Kindergarten to Grade 12 between June 25 to July 31, 2026. Report cards for the 2025-26 school year may be viewed, downloaded and/or printed.

Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For best access to information, log in to the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App.

Need Help? Check out these videos for more information on how to log in and navigate the portal when you have more than one child attending CBE schools.

Staffing Updates for 2026-27

We have a few staff updates to share with you as we end our school year. With such a small staff, it is hard to say good-bye to good people who have been a big part of the Elbow Park Staff family. We wish them well as they move on.

In our classrooms, we congratulate Kathleen Goodmanson as she moves into retirement. Our school has also received some funding to reduce class size based on our high student numbers in both Grades 1 and 6. As such, we have hired Natalie Grubac from Altadore School to join our staff and we also welcome back Ms. Karly.

We are also saying good-bye to Deanne Morgan (aka Ms. D), our Education Assistant, as well as Ms. Jennifer, one of our Lunch Supervisors. Our Facility Operator of 18 years, Mr. Armstrong, has also officially retired this year. In his permanent position, we now have Mr. Haziel Manuel.

A reminder that on Thursday, August 27, after 4:00 PM, homeroom teachers will email families to let them know whose class their child has been assigned to. Again, as a reminder, we do not accept requests for specific teachers and we work hard to ensure that students land in the most appropriate learning environment in which they will meet their best personal potential and achieve academic success.

Student Medication

Any student medication stored in the office will be sent home with students on Friday, June 26. If you would prefer to collect the medication yourself on that day, or require it earlier, please email the office (elbowpark@cbe.ab.ca) and we will hold the medication aside for collection.

Lost & Found

We have many hoodies and sweaters in our lost and found. Please make a point of coming into the building to claim any lost items. Anything left behind will be washed and donated to James Short Memorial School.
