· Dec 19 – Winter Concert Performance (9:00-10:00 a.m.) Tickets Required. Assigned Seating (2/family)

Hamper Wrap-Up
Thank you so much for everyone’s contributions and donations to our James Short Memorial School Hamper Wrap-up. It is heart-warming to see the wrapped boxes leave for delivery.
GI Outbreak is Over!
Enough said :)
AHS has declared our outbreak over. Our absent illness numbers were under 10% again for the second consecutive day today with 7.6% (18 students).
School Spirit Week
As we want to pretend that last week never happened, we are hoping to bring some joy back into next week. We would love to see students participate in our dress suggestions for next week:
· Monday – Holiday sweaters or Holiday colours
· Tuesday – Jersey Day – wear your favorite team jersey
· Wednesday – Festive headwear day
· Thursday – Concert Re-Do – wear your concert outfit
· Friday – Pajama Day
Holiday Absences
If you have planned absences next week due to an early vacation for example, please email elbowpark@cbe.ab.ca with the dates that your child will be absent.
Concert Details & Food Bank Drive
Tickets that were issued earlier this week are required for the Thursday morning concert. If you are not able to attend, please email elbowpark@cbe.ab.ca to let us know your tickets can be released. We will be video recording each Grade Team during the public performance and posting it on our school’s private YouTube channel.
No tickets are required for the Wednesday morning dress rehearsal. Our front rows of chairs are reserved for our students so that they may watch the concert. Extended family may sit behind our students.
We are collecting non-perishable food-items for the Calgary Food bank. We invite you to help by contributing online. All donations over $25 made online, phone, mail, or in person will receive a tax receipt. For every dollar donated, the Calgary Food Bank can distribute $3.50 worth of food! We are collecting the following in our school:
· Canned Pasta Sauce (no glass jars)
· Canned Tomatoes
· Pasta (including gluten free)
· Rice
· Baby Diapers
· Formula
Lost & Found is Overflowing
Please come into the office next week or after the concert to peruse our lost and found items.
School Council and Society Minutes & Principal’s Report
School Council meeting minutes and the Principal’s Report from November 20 have been posted to our School Council webpage. Elbow Park Parent Society meeting minutes from Nov. 20 have also been posted on the Society webpage. Notable points to review are a report from the Fraser Report that indicates Alberta has dropped to the lowest level of per student funding for education in the country.
