Evergreen Theatre Science Residency – Student Review
Please read our student review on this fabulous residency that met both Fine Arts and Science learning outcomes. This experience was paid for with donations through our school fundraising efforts (Masterpieces and Casino) organized by our Parent Society (EPPS). Please click here to read the story.
Elbow Park Parent Society (EPPS) – Status Update
The following was provided by EPPS:
As many of you know, the Elbow Park Parent Society (Society) is a distinct legal entity from the school and school Council. It operates to raise funds that are contributed to the CBE and designated to Elbow Park School to support the various residencies, technology, playground equipment etc. that students benefit from.
The Society is registered with various government agencies including Alberta Corporate Registry (to legally exist as a Society under the Societies Act), and also Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (allows us to participate in the bi-annual casino fundraiser). These registrations remain in good standing.
The Society also had registered charity status under the Income Tax Act through the CRA. It lost its charitable status in 2021 due to a missed corporate filing during COVID. Most school Societies are not registered with the CRA, but being registered allows the Society to issue tax receipts to donors.
We're currently working with the CRA to regain our charitable status so that we can again issue tax receipts. We have connected already with a number of donors about tax receipts, but if you have donated and we haven’t spoken please reach out. Today we received positive notice from the CRA that our re-application is on track. The only follow-up to the re-application is an amendment to Society’s legal purpose (originally drafted in 1991). The Society will file the required documents with AB Corporate Registry early next week and expects to receive confirmation from the CRA soon after.
In the meantime, Society can still conduct its normal activities with no impact on school events and programming (for example, today's Evergreen Theatre).
If you have any questions or would like more information please contact any of the current or former Society board members listed below at eppsociety@gmail.com.

Spring Fling Carnival – Save the Date
Our date has been confirmed for this fun and amazing family event at Elbow Park School: Thursday, May 30.
More event details & tickets information to follow.
Our school has had a tradition of having a Fall Fair for many years. In the past, it has included a petting zoo, pony rides, BBQ, and outdoor games in the past.
We will be looking for volunteers to help us organize the event. More information will follow.
Landscaping Update – Shale
Our CBE Grounds Team has just topped up our shale stone in our outdoor classroom rock circle. Our students love to dig in the dirt and use the gravel for their outdoor kitchen.
The shale was paid for by fundraising efforts of our parent community through Parent Society (EPPS).
